    Excursion: Kingston by Bike

They say that time goes by as quickly as you travel. Since that tends to be very fast these days, our family slowed things down a bit while enjoying our time at Hideout on Howe, our favourite cottage rental in the Thousand Islands.

We spent a few hours exploring nearby Kingston by bicycle, and it was the perfect leisurely way to see the city’s picturesque waterfront. We started right downtown, on the bike path near Confederation Park, and rode through parks and past century-old buildings and historic monuments, pausing once in a while to read the plaques or simply take in the stunning views of Lake Ontario.

Biking will definitely be a priority for us from now on. It’s a great way to truly get to know a new place. Next on our list while we’re here: the peaceful country roads on Howe Island and the quaint St. Lawrence waterfront of Gananoque.
